Mi 6 Incoming After months of being rumoured, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 6 is officially launching this April. During a live streaming session with Mi fans, Lei Jun said that that Mi 6 will release this month. Although he didn't mention the specific date, but according to the Chinese media, it could be sometime around April 11th to April 18th.

So what's new? The Mi 6 has been a long rumoured phone with multiple leaks that spilled most of the beans. Image renders which showed what it could look like and what hardware it could have. While the spec sheet did attract a lot of attention, particular interest has been given to its imaging capabilities. Earlier this year, it was rumoured that the Mi 6 could come with a dual camera setup. However, a recently released retail box image debunked it and instead, its now rumoured that it could have a 30-megapixel camera on the rear.

3/5Three different processors?

Three different processors? Based on the spec sheet that leaked, the Mi 6 could feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with a 5.5-inch or 5.2-inch LCD display with 2.5D curved glass for protection. Reports on the media also speculated that the Mi 6 could come in three processor variants- one running the Snapdragon 835, another running the Snapdragon 821 and yet another powered by the MediaTek Helio X30.

Serious firepower underneath It is also expected that the Mi 6 could sport 8GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of onboard storage. In addition, it is rumoured that the Mi 6 will have the fingerprint sensor embedded in the display along with having an iris scanner.

Take all this with a pinch of salt However, as with all rumours, not all of it might be true and as we inch closer to the launch date, we expect things to get clearer.
